GILBERT GUTIERREZ

Gilbert is a highly accomplished figure in the auto glass industry, with a career spanning nearly five decades. As a long-time employee of Equalizer® and since 1992 he has significantly elevated industry education through his extensive experience and global travels. Starting his career in 1977, Gilbert has trained and installed auto glass across all 50 U.S. states and 39 countries, sharing his expertise at prestigious institutions like the Ford Carlite Auto Glass School, General Motors, Chrysler, Tesla, Kenworth, Honda USA, Ford and Volkswagen in Mexico and South America, Mercedes of Europe, and other independent instruction facilities including WyoTech and Performance Achievement Group (PAG). His contributions also include consulting I-CAR on various projects and serving on National Glass Association (NGA) and Auto Glass Safety Council committees for education, safety standards, windshield repair, and ADAS for over 30 years.​ In 2004, Gilbert received the NGA’s Len Stolk Memorial Special Achievement Award, an honor also bestowed upon his three previous employers: George Fleet (Samuels Glass Company), Joseph Kellman (Globe Glass/US Auto Glass), and Ray Asbery (Equalizer®).

Beyond his professional achievements, Gilbert is passionate about singing, reading, camping, hunting, fishing, and creating stained glass art. He cherishes time with his wife of 43 years, JoAnn, their children Nathan and Estee, their spouses Shea and Ian, and their three granddaughters, Magnolia, Olivia, and Eva. His philosophy, “Love what you do, and it will love you back,” reflects his dedication to his family, colleagues, students, and the auto glass industry.
